How will I know my assistant is working?

Every time the assistant clocks in and out for the day, they will email you what they plan to work on and what they have accomplished. What to expect with a virtual assistant includes regular updates and accountability. Our assistants have a supervisor who monitors their work activity with frequent webcam shots and screenshots of their computer screens to ensure they are productive at their desks. We also monitor their keyboard strokes and mouse clicks to verify their efficiency.

Whatever way you prefer.

  • Phone Calls – For conversations where long, detailed explanations are needed.
  • Emails – For issues that are not a high priority and can wait until the next day.
  • Google Hangouts – A chat feature that provides quick access for your assistant to get answers.

What to expect with a virtual assistant? Virtually everything. They come with basic knowledge of property management and real estate brokerage, but they will still need to learn your specific processes. They have read textbooks, had classroom discussions, watched videos, and taken exams to document their knowledge. They have also worked for our sister company as a virtual assistant, answering phone calls and emails and doing specific tasks for our property management company. However, they are trained not to assume they have the correct answer to any question and will learn from you with each decision or process you help them with.

Your assistant will only be as good as the time you put into training them on your methods and how you want things done for your business. Expect that initially, you will need to invest more time into training than you would if you did the job yourself. But trust that this investment of time will save you countless hours in the future as your assistant begins to work autonomously without your supervision. This is a crucial aspect of what to expect with a virtual assistant.
